OUR ASSOCIATION

Coast Forest Products Association represents companies engaged in the harvesting of logs and the production of a full range of forest products, including primary and value-added solid wood products and pulp and paper products. Together these companies represent a significant portion of the forest economy on the coast of British Columbia.

Coast Forest was established in 1993 to address issues unique to the coastal forest sector. The association works cooperatively with all levels of government and industry stakeholders to create forest policies that ensure certainty, sustainability and a strong economic future for the industry and for all British Columbians.

Coast Forest members remain committed to the successful resolution of land use issues to maintain secure, sustainable and affordable timber and forest production levels, which are the foundation for a strong and viable future for the industry and for coastal communities. In addition, Coast Forest is committed to working together with First Nations to help them benefit from increased opportunities in forestry. Our members' highest priority is to develop and implement policies and programs designed to improve safety standards and eliminate work related accidents.

Our member companies provide superior products and services that outperform market demand at a fair price, and provide their customers with products produced using the world's best environmental management practices. A key component of the association's vision is coordination of efforts to ensure that the five coastal species and their product lines have preferred and unrestricted access to the global marketplace.

Coast Forest works in partnership with governments and other industry associations to develop and implement sound forestry and economic policies, maintain and enhance market access and promote our products, services and environmental performance. Leveraging these relationships is critical in supporting the competitiveness of our member companies and the coastal forest sector in an efficient and cost effective manner.

Our vision for the organization ensures Coast Forest is the primary voice and a driving force for B.C.'s coastal forest industry.
