Whether it’s a large hotel, office development or public building, architects and designers of major projects can be assured of maintaining a consistent colour palette and visual identity throughout the interior, from decorative architectural details to furniture.

They can also rely on Pacific Coast Hemlock in safety matters as the wood is readily treated with fire retardants.

Pacific Coast Hemlock grows abundantly along the coastal region of British Columbia. It is one of the province’s most prolific lumber species, comprising nearly 60% of the mature coastal forest.

The trees grow straight and tall to mature heights of over 60 meters, and diameters exceeding 2 meters. In the early stages of growth, the trees have branches throughout their height. Later, the natural density of the typical coastal forest stands reduces sunlight on the lower branches and they are shed. Subsequent growth produces a trunk of clear, knot-free wood.

The forest is a precious resource that is carefully managed and continually renewed. Fortunately, British Columbia has one of the most vigorous set of environmental protection standards in the world.

Though responsible forest practices and sustainable harvesting, architects, designers and consumers will have an assured supply of Pacific Coast Hemlock for generations to come.

Every material and finish was carefully chosen to create an atmosphere of luxurious indulgence. In the spirit of ‘only the best is good enough,’ the designers selected Pacific Coast Hemlock as the wood of choice for interior furnishings in both residences and hotel.
