Update on the BC Pulp & Paper Competitiveness Project

The Pulp and Paper Sustainability Project is a component of the B.C. Forest Sector Competitiveness Strategy with the objective of improving the competitiveness of the forest sector through feasible and durable solutions.  This effort reflects a successful collaboration between: a coalition of nine B.C. Pulp & Paper companies, including Coast Forest’s CatalystPaper and Howe Sound Pulp and Paper; the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations; Ministry of Energy and Mines; Ministry of Jobs, Tourism Skills, Training and Labour; Ministry of Technology, Innovation and Citizen Services; FP Innovations and the University of British Columbia.

FPInnovations’ visual storytelling showcased forest innovation excellence at #BCTECH Summit

bctech_display1Through a visual narrative that showed how large a role the forest sector is playing on BC’s vibrant tech industry, FPInnovations showcased forestry’s ingenuity at BC’s biggest ever tech summit earlier this year.

In a creative display simulating a lush forest, FPInnovations presented its work in research, technology and innovation – including robots, drones, 3D printing, and more cool tech – at the #BCTECH Summit Technology Showcase, January 18-19. The presentation attracted most of the event’s 3,000 participants, including the biggest names in technology, investors, researchers, industry and government officials, such as the Hon. Christy Clark, Premier of British Columbia, who visited the display alongside FPInnovations’ president and CEO Pierre Lapointe.
