Job Posting: Environment and Forest Policy Analyst

THE POSITION:

Coast Forest Products Association is seeking a talented Environment and Forest Policy Analyst with an interest and enthusiasm in forest land use planning and forest management.

The ideal candidate has either a background and/or education in forest management including: timber supply analysis & modelling, and land use planning processes. As well, the candidate will possess an aptitude around data management analysis. He/she is motivated to learn and grow their knowledge base with a view to making changes to further improve the industry.

brian_frank_field2As he leaves his position as President and Chief Executive Officer of TimberWest, Coast Forest Products Association would like to thank Brian Frank for his many contributions to our Board.  Brian’s presence and leadership on the Coast Forest Board was invaluable, providing us with a strong perspective that represented British Columbian’s Crown and private forest lands.  His focus on sustainability, passion for overseas market opportunities and the importance of our industry’s ability to invest in new technology and innovative products will not be easily replaced.  Coast Forest Products Association wishes Brian all of the very best in his new endeavours.

New Japanese Website Now Live

Japanese customers looking to find out more about coastal British Columbia forest products now have a new and updated resource tool at their disposal. The Canada-Tsuga website has been redesigned to include analytical case studies that illustrate the superior color, clarity, purity and Japanese seismic-standard strength of Coastal British Columbia wood products. The site also now incorporates industry news and events posts that feature numerous residential samples and video statistics. A user-friendly supplier and distributor guide is another new feature on the site that will make sourcing and purchasing those products that much easier.

A Christmas Surprise from Coast Forest!

Spreading holiday cheer is best when it’s a group effort. This year, Coast Forest did just that, building a community-based video Christmas card though our social media contest promotion. Participants learned about the coastal forest industry from our educational website, Our Forests Our Roots, where they could download a  forestry decal so that they could create their own unique holiday designs relating.
